Stews - Applesauce (Martha Stewart)

3 lb apples peeled, cored,
and quartered
Juice of 1 lemon - (2 tbspns)
Place apples in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add lemon juice and enough water to cover bottom of pan by 12 inch. Cook, covered, until apples are soft and begin to burst, about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the type of apples. Do not stir. Use immediately, or cool before serving.
This recipe yields 4 cups.
Yield: 4 cups
